'When all you feel is light' 2010

'When all you feel is light' was painted in 2010, and holds alot of meaning. She is coming out from the dark... a very gentle illumination. For me the peacock is such a rich symbol of letting go of one's outer appearance (things we cannot change) and turning inwards where we find strength and beauty within. I've painted many a lanterns or sources of light in my first few years of living in New Zealand, and this piece is a striking example of my birds as messengers teaching me about life.
