'The bear necessities' was painted in 2017 and inspired by my son Hugh and Shane who are both keen fly fishermen. The bear has only the necessary the fishing gear, compared to the badger who is quite the opposite with all the fishing hooks and gadgets attached to his jacket. A delightful series that formed part of a solo show in the same year.
