"A twist of Fate" was painted in 2012 and formed part of an exhibition of small works that focused mostly on New Zealand birds. I've always loved this piece and the message is in the title that speaks of how the decisions we make at the time or the opportunities we grab hold of can determine the course of our lives. I hopped on a boat to Gibraltar in 1998 and that decision led to further opportunities and eventually saw me move to New Zealand a year later.
This quote below describes it beautifully...
“Sometimes the slightest things change the directions of our lives, the merest breath of a circumstance, a random moment that connects like a meteorite striking the earth. Lives have swiveled and changed direction on the strength of a chance remark” Bryce Courtenay
