'All of me' 2012

'All of me' was painted in 2012 and this painting is one of my most important works, with so much meaning and sentiment. From the pink arum lily, the key around her neck, time on her side, the godwit holding the light sharing his wisdom and the suitcases we carry that tell the stories of our deepest feelings.

Here's what I wrote about it in 2012. 

“All of me” is a story we can all relate to when we leave the securities of home to explore our dreams. Leaving home for many is an exhilarating but also overwhelming experience. We take with us what little posessions we have accumulated. Some of us leave, but stay in our countries of birth and some of us leave the shores of our country. Symbolically this story tells of our ‘coming of age’. Guided by what has been taught and our own intuition. Trusting within, that the path we chose was the right decision we made.
