Original collage

A one-off collage made from fragments of my own print library. Cut-out elements are displaced and reassembled around a small shelter, where the space they came from remains as a trace of memory, place and time. This piece specifically speaks to the time differences for many who have family elsewhere in the world. 

As a migrant, the sense of being from somewhere else often sits beneath my work. For these two pieces, shelters have been cut from their original landscapes, while the landscapes themselves have been turned upside down. Displaced from their origins, they share the same space but exist in a different time zone — a reflection of living between places, memories and versions of home.
