Then and Now
What do the years add to what we first drew?
I made the first sketches of this tulip in 2014. This year I returned to it, adding an abstract shape and finishing it in colour pencil. The tulip is a nod to my French and Dutch heritage, and the drawing sits comfortably within my painterly language. It reflects the time I have spent exploring abstraction, and how knowledge and experience only enrich our lives.
Framed Dimensions: H305 x W290mm
Medium: Graphite and coloured pencil on paper framed in a thin charcoal woodgrain with AR70 antireflective artglass.
